Polarized light is of the blue sky, even of gray clouds, rainbows and the glory.  Ice in the sky separately polarizes rays to double sundogs. Butterflies use polarization. It manifests wherever there are reflections.   Gunther Konnen is an acknowledged expert on atmospheric optics and his book encompassing so many aspects of polarisation in nature is a delight to read.
