Baikal Moonbow
~ Anatoly Arsentev imaged this lunar rainbow on the shore of Lake Baikal in Siberia, Russia. Communicated by Pavel Nikiforov.
The image
captures nicely the visual appearance and impact of moonbows - faint, elusive and little colour. This bow shows weak reds and blues on its outer and inner edges. There is just a hint amongst the stars of a secondary bow.
