A mountain and the sun starting to shine through mist are needed for this sight. Look downwards opposite the sun to see your 3D shadow stretching outwards to the antisolar point. If the mist is fresh (droplets of uniform size) the shadow tip will be surrounded by a multi-ringed glory - a diffraction pattern in the sky.
