Drone Bows ~
A new way to capture atmospheric optics! Adam Guy captured these rainbows from a drone above Ke’e Beach, Ha’ena on the Hawaiian Island of Kaua’i. Seen from an eye in the sky it is easy to accept that, given the chance, rainbows are full circles. These were generated by fine rain falling through almost full sunlight. Raindrops inside the primary refract and reflect light to create a lit disk. There is a faint reverse colour secondary bow beyond Alexanders dark band. All images ©Adam Guy, shown with permission |
